This school was a k-12 school. It was built to service a large area which is why it was so large for such a small town. It however did not go as planned and half the school was not in use as they did not get the students that were predicted. Instead, town populations dropped and the school numbers dropped. The upstairs classrooms had not been used for years. According to the last graduating class being in 2004, I think it closed that year. It then sat abandoned with desks still in place, books still in storage, equipment still in the gym and artwork on the walls. We visited this location and they were very different. The first time it had a small amount of vandalism, mostly damage from the leaking roof (which they tried to direct into garbage cans) and was in not bad condition. The second time there was graffiti everywhere, it was completely vandalized right down to the lights. It was purchased not long after our second visit and is being re-purposed.
